Saalbach-Hinterglemm is located at 1050 meters above sea level, at the heart of the "Skicircus Saalbach" ski region. Through its impressive 270 kms of ski slopes, "Skicircus Saalbach" connects all 5 main villages in the region: Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn and Vorderglemm.

Saalbach and Hinterglemm have converged over the years, but are still 2 separate villages. Saalbach has a car-free center and there is a vibrant atmosphere. The street scene is adorned by large hotels, cozy guesthouses, sports shops, restaurants and après-ski bars. The après-ski in Saalbach starts early in the afternoon and continues until late at night.

Ski pass prices (day ticket) range from EUR 26,50 for  children to EUR 53 for adults. The ski resort is normally open from late November until mid April but it should be noted these are also subject to actual snow conditions, which may be affected adversely in Spring by rising temperatures. Saalbach-Hinterglemm also features 6 and 8-man chairlifts with heated seats and retractable covers for use in bad weather.

For tourists travelling by plane it is only a short transfer to the ski resort from Salzburg Airport.
